A Coyote Who Wished He Lived In A Zoo What would you do if you were a coyote who was not happy living in the wild? Jesse wondered the same thing, until one day, his eyes opened to a beautiful place where his dream of finding an easier way of life, may come true.
I am pleased to introduce you to my first book, A Coyote Who Wished He Lived In A Zoo, a fictional story with non-fiction woven into it. The book will delight children ages 5-9 as well as parents and teachers as they read it aloud to young children. The story is positive, hopeful, and inspiring. The book fits in the school curriculum as it talks about an animal's niche and habitat, along with the prey and predator relationships, as well as the good things zoos do for animals. Children love animals, and zoo's are a big part of their learning experience. This, along with the character's adventure, is a sure way to entertain, and educate your child at the same time.
I have closely studied the anatomy, movement, and behavior of coyotes to help make the illustrations in the book, as realistic as possible.

Reviews for A Coyote Who Wished He Lived In A Zoo
Anna Grob's book, A Coyote Who Wished He Lived In A Zoo, is a touching tale about the struggles of a lone coyote who discovers that life on the other side of the wall is a world where animals are cared for and valued. The other side of the wall, of course, is the zoo. This tale helps to teach children that zoos are more than just a place where animals are seen: zoos are a sanctuary, an education resource and a place where people are connected to wildlife. The coyote soon learns (as does the reader) that animals in zoos are cared for by passionate zoo keepers who provide an enriching environment for the animals they care for. In addition to the lovely storyline, Anna's book is wonderfully illustrated, expertly capturing expressions and body language of the animals throughout the story. -Bob Cisneros, President of the American Association of Zoo Keepers, and San Diego Zoo Animal Care Supervisor
Anna Grob’s delightful tale about a coyote who finds a home in the zoo is sure to please its readers as well as teach children respect for animals and the need to provide a home for endangered species. -Helen Osterman, author of the Emma Winberry mysteries.
"Anna’s gentle illustrations and tale educate children about the increasingly challenging times wildlife face in our world and the love that humans provide creatures safely living in zoos." - Tracy Ahrens, journalist, illustrator and author of five books, including "Raising My Furry Children" and "Nature Will Heal."
A Coyote Who Wished He Lived In A Zoo, is a whimsical tale loaded with delightful illustrations and animal characters! The book not only highlights the challenges of life in the wild but also the amazing work that zoos do in the care of their animals. Two paws up, for this gem! -Dave Fuentes, magazine writer, Rondo Hatton Award Winner, Brookfield Zoo Docent, and father of five children.
